This body of work was inspired by the Wallace Stevens poem “The Idea of Order at Key West.” It went to the sea and filmed myself reciting this poem as waves were crashing over me. I then began to use the film stills in different image-making processes. The series aims to explore many different interventions of image-making, constantly taking the image apart, reconfiguring it, and putting it back together. The image then is not one thing but entangled in a queering art-making process.
